Fully portable and uses batteries. Battery compartment has no corrosion and is clean. No batteries are installed so item remains untested for battery operation. Unknown if it does or does not operate properly on all functions. Item was used primarily to receive weak signals and align television antennas to the strongest orientation for best reception. Still useful for FM broadcast band and ham uses.
